The Challenge
EnableIndia works to empower persons with disabilities through employment and training. Their existing platform needed modernization to better serve job seekers with different abilities, while giving employers tools to build inclusive hiring practices at scale.
My Approach
I focused on building a job matching system that accounts for accessibility needs — matching not just skills and roles, but workplace accommodations, remote work options, and assistive technology availability. The platform was built with progressive enhancement, ensuring core functionality works even on low-bandwidth connections common in rural India.
Key Contributions
Developed the skills-to-accommodation matching algorithm that connects job seekers with employers offering appropriate workplace support. Built the training module system with video captioning, screen-reader compatible exercises, and offline-capable content delivery. Created the employer-facing diversity dashboard that tracks hiring metrics and generates compliance reports.
