The Challenge

Tripaneer is one of the largest yoga retreat and adventure travel booking platforms. The site needed significant performance improvements to handle growing traffic, while the booking experience required modernization to compete with mainstream travel platforms.

My Approach

I focused on two fronts: frontend performance optimization through code splitting, image lazy loading, and critical CSS extraction; and backend improvements through database query optimization, caching strategies, and search infrastructure upgrades. The booking flow was redesigned to minimize steps and provide instant availability confirmation.

Key Contributions

Rebuilt the listing search experience using Elasticsearch with faceted filters, geo-distance sorting, and autocomplete suggestions. Optimized the image delivery pipeline with responsive images and next-gen formats, cutting page weight by 60%. Enhanced the booking confirmation system with real-time availability checks and automated host notifications.
